Field, G. D. 1979. A new species of Malimbus sighted in Sierra Leone and a review of the genus. Malimbus 1: 2-13.—Good sight records of a yellow-and-black malimbe, referred to as M. golensis, found in a minute area of the Gola Forest. It seems to be an allospecies of the lower Guinea M. racheliae, and ‘gone is the only criterion for separating' Malimbus from Ploceus.
